The night before, I was a big mess. It was blizzarding outside, I was overwhelmed and just wanted to go to bed. We had been running all day, and my bridesmaids were pissing me off (oh how I love them.) They were grumpy. I was grumpy. It just wasn't a good mixture. We got most of the things accomplished and my oh so amazing family came in and put the centerpieces together while I just broke down and needed an anxiety pill to calm down. (Please note I have NEVER before taken one.) I just went into the room with Brandon and cried and cried and cried. Hyperventilated. Once my head hit the pillow at 2 am, I was out like a light. THANK GOODNESS.
The morning of my wedding was so much better. (Except for the fact that there was still a blizzard outside.) The lady who did my hair did a FANTASTIC job. (If you're ever in Logan and want your hair done, let me know ;) I was stressing out trying to get the girls ready, but I was finally calmed down. I got the girls out the door in order to help set up for the luncheon, and my mom was not ready to go when we needed to leave. She told me she was "dealing with something." I heard her ask my step-mother-in-law if she brought the fake flowers, and my stomach turned. I asked her what happened and she refused to tell me.
Little background about my florist. I don't LIVE in Logan, but I still managed to go in PERSONALLY 3 different times to makes sure EVERYTHING was right. My flowers were the ONE thing I needed to be the way I wanted just because they are in your pictures. They are with you forever. I emailed her constantly, but it took her forever to respond. I emailed her 3 weeks before the wedding and asked if we had a contract on file. The DAY BEFORE my wedding, she emails back and says "we don't but your dad has paid for all the flowers." BIG weight lifted.... or so I thought. My invoice had April 9, 2011 on it as the pick up date.
My mom finally decided that it would be better to tell me now, whether then me find out later. "Stupid Sarah wrote down the 19th, instead of the 9th." If I had never had a panic attack, that was my first. I ran out of the hotel room, threw my bag, hit a door, and ran into my room, opened the window and began LITERALLY hyperventilating. I did this THE WHOLE way to the temple. How do you forget flowers? HOW!?!
Well, I took a deep breath and went in to be sealed for time and eternity to the love of my life. (AFTER my dad requested to see me and I had one more breakdown. You never know how hard it is to leave your father out of such an amazing part of your life. I was okay with it, until then. I was sobbing, and everyone around me including temple workers were crying. I was so grateful for my dad's support in it all. Although I had to leave him there, he gave me a necklace to represent him that I wore, and he got the opportunity to talk to the temple president and get any questions answered.) You can't walk into the temple upset. I had forgotten the flowers. I had forgotten about the fact that there was a blizzard outside. I had forgotten everything that stressed me out, or upset me. It was just me, Brandon, my family, and the Lord. We had a beautiful sealing ceremony. I really felt the love both Brandon and the Lord had for me.
I came out with the BIGGEST smile on my face. My family was all there. The rest of the day was perfect. (I had flowers, but they SUCKED because they had to put them together in an hour, and they didn't have the right flowers) My luncheon was AMAZING. (Thanks to the Iron Gate Grill.) My bridesmaids and family did amazing at decorating. President Middleton did perfect. It was all perfect. My photographers are something else. I was a bit worried, and even though we have to go back so that we can get couples pictures where you can actually see us, everything else turned out great. They got some amazing pictures of the luncheon, ring ceremony, and even good family shots. My videographer was so great to work with. And I'm now sealed to the best guy known to man.
Our apartment is almost unpacked completely. Looks great. I love being with Brandon. I love waking up next to him. I just love him. Period.
